BACHELOR OF ARTS (LIGUISTICS)
The B.A. Linguistics Programme prepares students in general linguistics and in applied areas where linguistics interfaces with, for example, psychology, sociology and anthropology.
Graduates from this programme are expected to acquire skills, knowledge and attitudes to enable them to work in a variety of work situations in industry or public service.

Objectives/Admission
The objectives of the programme are to:
- Impart adequate analytical skills in the study of language
- Expose the students to the comparative study ofgrammatical structures
- Provide understanding of the role of language in society.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted into B.A. in Linguistics degree programme of Moi University a candidate must:
satisfy the minimum entry requirements set for admission into Kenyan public universities, which is a C+ have passed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least a B- in English.
Duration of the Programme
The programme will run like any other programme in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, i.e. 8 semesters or 4 academic years.
