MASTERS OF ARTS IN FORCED MIGRATION

Forced human displacement is fostering domestic and international migrations which challenge the very foundations
of the nation-state and the international world order. The consequences are both immediate and long-lasting. In order
to develop a systematic understanding of forced migration vis-à-vis long term consequences, scholars are developing
multi-disciplinary and multi-pronged approaches. Students will therefore be exposed to political science, anthropology,
sociology, law and other related subjects.

The course is intended to:
Give academic recognition to those who have studied or researched the emerging field of forced displacement.
Equip students with analytical and research skills necessary for enhancing their professional or academic careers through a multi-disciplinary approach.
Equip students with a broad and in depth understanding of the difference between forced migration and other forms of migration and the global and domestic processes
that underpin such migration.
