BACHELOR OF ARTS ENGLISH
The B.A. English degree programme prepares students to understand and appreciate general linguistics but with a specific emphasis on the English language. The English language majors are prepared for work in communicationrelated fields and for academic careers.

Objectives/Admission
The objectives of the programme are to: Introduce students to the role of English as an international language Expose the students to the study of sound and sentence structures of English. Give the students skills of analyzing the grammatical structures of the English language. Prepare students for research in language studies
Admission Requirements
To be admitted into B.A. in English degree programme of Moi University a student must:
Satisfy the minimum entry requirements set for admission into Kenyan public universities which is a C+
Have passed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least a B- in English.
Holders of diplomas and higher diplomas in relevant disciplines may, at the discretion of the School of Arts and Social Sciences, be admitted into the second year of study.
Duration of the Programme
The programme will run like any other programme in the School of Arts and Social Sciences i.e. 8 semesters or 4 academic years.
