Objectives
General Objective
The general objective of the proposed MA in Translation Studies programme is to package knowledge that addresses
the situation of the translator as a multi-skilled individual,practitioner and communicator.
The goal of the programme is to target the development of a scholar that has excellent command of at least two working
languages; is prepared to be a thinking translator; and also is one who is technologically competent and aware of the world
of the professional.
Specific objectives
- To introduce and ground the students to contemporary theoretical issues in Translation Studies.
- To develop a range of professional and linguistic skills appropriate to the translation profession;
- To provide practical training in the translation of a range of specialized texts;
- To equip students with the technological tools and skills required in the profession;
